Professor Hrach is offering two diploma thesis topics in the field of plasma physics, see the attached document for details.
Professor Pavel Jungwirth offers to interested students an exciting project aimed at computer modelling of the process of hearing in the inner ear. In collaboration with the Austrian company Medel, which produces cochlear implants, his group is developing a Matlab model of linear electric circuits, which describes the formation of the acoustic signal and its transduction into the brain.
We would like to invite to the informal meetings “From steam engine to modern non-equilibrium thermodynamics”, where we want to discuss some classical and modern concepts in thermodynamics. The meeting time will be fixed during the introductory meeting of all students of mathematical modelling (Monday 30th August, 15:40, K1).
You have probably noticed that the webpages of mathematical modelling group have been completely rebuilt. First, the webpages are now completely bilingual. Second, there is a new webpage concerning the redesigned MSc study programme Mathematical Modelling in Physics and Technology (Matematické modelování ve fyzice a technice). Here you can find all the details concerning the new curriculum and so forth.
